The Church of the Holy Cross is a parish in union with the Diocese of South Carolina under the Episcopal leadership of The Rt. Rev. Mark J. Lawrence. We are part of the global Anglican Communion, (ca 80 million) the third largest Christian communion in the world after the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church. While both Catholic and Reformed, Anglicanism represents an orthodox theology, grounded in Holy Scripture and tradition. We hold to the clear teaching of the Christian faith as it has been handed down through the centuries while seeking to proclaim that faith with relevance and life application for the twenty-first century.
I was glad when they said unto me, “We will go into the house of the Lord.”
The rich choral and instrumental patrimony of Anglicanism initially drew me to this way of worship when I was 18 years old in North Carolina. I find the beauty of the Church of the Holy Cross unsurpassed among the churches in which I have been organist and am honored to provide music in the Anglican tradition for this historic parish.
